Frankfurter Supper

6 frankfurters
10 ounces frozen green beans
1 ½ cups Medium White Sauce
½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
¼ cup grated sharp cheddar
½ cup buttered breadcrumbs


Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Cook the frankfurters in boiling water for 5-6 minutes. Remove from water and cut into 1 inch pieces. Cook the green beans according to the package. While the beans are cooking make the white sauce. Stir the Worcestershire sauce into the white sauce. Stir the frankfurters and green beans into the cream sauce. Pour into a 1 ½ quart casserole dish. Sprinkle the top with grated cheese and breadcrumbs.

Bake for 30 minutes.


Medium Cream Sauce

2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all purpose flour
¼ teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 cup milk

Melt the butter in a small pan. Whisk in the flour. Let cook until smooth and bubbly, stir in the salt and pepper.
Slowly whisk in the milk, adding a little at a time to prevent lumps.
Bring to a boil and cook for about one minute.
